Alameda

Reasonable restrictions.

Many Bay Area cities are making an effort to accommodate truckers. Alameda is doing a good job.

The town is densely packed, and wants to keep noisy trucks from roiling past homes day and night.

Constitution at Atlantic.

Park Ave. at Clement.

Trucks are only allowed on established trucks routes, which 'cover' the business areas quite well. Clear signs indicate each route.

The Alameda police are known to enforce these routes on an occasional basis. They also provide maps with their truck routes marked. (A copy is posted below.)
Note that the High Street Bridge, reached by the High Street exit from 880, is *not* a truck route!

If only all towns were so informative.
